Considering that I couldn't complete a single book in January or February, could only read 6 books in March, 2 in April, and 4 in May, June has been a major success for me. I'm still significantly behind in my Goodreads challenge, but I have hope that I can make it up! So far this year, I've read 24 books. I hope July is just as wonderful!

Ellen's June Reads

Um, June hasn't been so great for me, reading wise. I've started quite a few books, but finishing them? Not so much. Here's what I've read...

With Malice by Eileen Cook

Bittersweet by Sarina Bowen

You Know Me Well by Nina LaCour and David Levithan

Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater

The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater

Reliquary by Sarah Fine

High Contrast by Tess Bowery

Places No One Knows by Brenna Yovanoff

Ellen: Okay, perhaps I'm being too hard on myself. Nine books isn't bad for a month, but I feel like it doesn't reflect the sheer amount of start/stop reading I've been doing.  If I'd finished all the books I began to read, then June would have shown fantastic stats.

Sierra (butts in): You are being too hard on yourself! YOU ARE FABULOUS. Let's not forget those Buzz and Penguin sampler reviews! And we raised our Netgalley stats! Ellen = success. I shall turn it back to Ellen now :P.

Ellen: But the month hasn't exactly been a wash.  As everyone has probably noticed (</sarcasm>), I'm no longer alone at Quest Reviews! Sierra hopped aboard at the beginning of the month and it's been so wonderful, I can't even express the true extent of my joy.

Perhaps this says it best — yesterday, Sierra and I had a rousing conversation about Paper Princess at 7 AM. SEVEN AY-EM. I literally rolled out of bed, checked my Twitter messages, and got to laugh out loud first thing. It was awesome.

So that's it for June, everyone! Here's to July!

  1. Yes, Ellen. You are being way too hard on yourself! Don't forget the debacle that was my May whereby I read an ambitious 3 books. Hmmppph.

Sierra! I'm bummed you didn't quite enjoy Reyes' magnificence in Brighter than the Sun. That man is way too hot for my poor nerves. Pass me my smelling salt, would you please?

    Here's to July! Cheers.

  2. I wish I enjoyed it more as well! I've realized that I'm starting get a little disillusioned with the urban fantasy genre. Maybe I've just phased out of it for now and will enjoy it much more in a little while. Glad you liked it though!

  3. You did have a great month for books, you both did! Have a wonderful weekend and a happy and safe 4th you two!!

  4. You've both managed to get quite a bit read though, which is something to be proud of! I hope the next month can have a lot of good reads and maybe even more ;)

  5. Hmmm...I definitely need to try These Shallow Graves.

  6. Thank you! Have a wonderful weekend too!

  7. Thank you! Same to you, Olivia!

  8. Please do! I've already ordered Revolution and A Northern Light by her. Hopefully I'll have time to read it this month :)
