Booktubeathon 2016 » TBR

It's that time of year again... it's Booktubeathon!

Booktubeathon 2016

Booktubeathon is a week-long reading challenge hosted by the lovely Ariel Bissett (video link HERE). The readathon runs from July 18th-24th. As the title suggests, it is mainly for the Booktube community but I see no reason why I can't participate. Hopefully I will be able to film videos to post. But right now it's 2am, and I'm wearing an oversize college sleep shirt with no bra. Aka NOT video-filming time. It is, however, optimal blogging time!

Without further ado, here are the 7 challenges I hope to complete during this week.

Reading Challenges

Challenge #1: Read a book with yellow on the cover.

Imprudence by Gail Carriger. It is beautiful and yellow, and absolutely my first choice. It was incredibly painful to even wait just the two days to read it for this booktubeathon.

Challenge #2: Read a book only after sunset.

The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison. It is an eerie thriller that I think would be perfect for midnight reading. I've actually already read this one so I'm off to an excellent start!

Challenge #3: Read a book you discovered through booktube.

The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North was strongly recommended last year by Regan from the Peruse Project. I immediately bought the gorgeous hardcover and it's been on my shelf ever since.

Challenge #4: Read a book by one of your favorite authors.

I'm using Imprudence to count for this challenge as well. After all Gail is my new favorite author this year!

Challenge #5: Read a book that is older than you.

Pride and Prejudice. I have a gorgeous Penguin Classics edition that I'd like to curl up with.

Challenge #6: Read and watch a book-to-movie adaptation.

This is why I picked Pride and Prejudice for my previous challenge. I've never watched the BBC adaptation with Colin Firth and I'd love to see that with my sister. This seemed as good of a time as any!

Challenge #7: Read 7 books.

  1. Imprudence by Gail Carriger

  2. The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison

  3. The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North

  4. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

  5. A Study in Charlotte by Brittany Cavallaro

  6. ???

  7. ???

I'll leave the last 2 as freebies. I don't always do well with scheduled TBRs since I'm very much of a mood reader. I hope this is a good reading week for everyone!

Are any of you guys are participating in this week's Booktubeathon? If you are, I'd love know what you're planning on reading!

  3. I am always looking for opportunities to force me to read faster and more since my TBR pile is so high but I will skip this one since I don't even like listening to book reviews on video. Ha! Hey, thanks for visiting my Sunday Salon. Yes, you should definitely visit Washington State sometime but I don't know anyone would guarantee you'd see any Orcas. They are pretty illusive.

  4. You're doing so well! It would've been nice if you filmed yourself. :) But I know how terrifying the thought could be. Have fun!

  7. You're welcome! I imagine they are :(. But better out there in the wild than a Seaworld-like space.

  8. It is pretty terrifying! What I truly hate is editing because I can't bear watching myself over and over while making edits. But I hope I will be able to put up a wrap-up video though!
